New Photos from Europe

Do you know which country in Europe these photos are taken?

Chimmy, our little Monkey friend, from the education book series, “Chimmy 5in1,” has arrived in this European country.  Guess which country?

Chimmy is having to learn the language of this country. Chimmy tells us, “I am catching on pretty well to the language.  I have bought a book to help me.  Just got here and already traveled to two cities here.  Headed south tomorrow.”

Here is a cafe Chimmy has ate and met a couple new friends who are helping Chimmy with the language.  His new friends also gave him some facts about this country.
1. This country has three active volcanoes
2. world’s largest producers of renewable energy.
3. Eighth largest economy in the world
4. Known for its architectural achievements
5. Fourth-largest population in the European Union

Chimmy is happy to share his travels with you.  To play and guess where Chimmy is visiting, please comment on this blog with your answer.

Out of France and headed to…

Chimmy loved France and has traveled all over the country seeing the most spectacular sites.  While in Paris, he took a boat down the Seine, admired the flying buttresses of Notre Dame, gazed at the Mona Lisa in the Louvre, took the train to Versaille and strolled through the gardens. He then decided to head west to Giverny and experienced the inspiration of many Claude Monet paintings, such as The Water Lilies. In the north he visited the historic area of Normandy and then headed down to the Loire Valley to enjoy fields of flowers and elaborate chateaus.  He has had quite the adventure in France and capped off his journey in Nice to relax and recharge at the beach. Chimmy has learned a few phrases in French such as Bon Jour (Hello), Au Revoir (Goodbye) and Où la gare est? (Where is the train station?).

Now Chimmy is on the train to another European Country that only Chimmy and the Tot’s Cafe know where.  He will keep sending us photos.  We thought it would be fun to have you guess which country Chimmy is visiting.

Our little monkey friend said that this country is famous for their cheese and wines but Chimmy doesn’t drink wine so he could not report on how wonderful the wine actually is.

Images of Europe from Chimmy

The Tot’s Cafe has finally heard from Chimmy on his travels to Europe.  He has sent these two images of a country in Europe.  He has already visited a few cities in this country but he is staying in this city on the coast (picture above).  He will send some pictures of other more popular spots soon as he has not ventured into the more larger cities yet.

Sent directly from Chimmy: ” The weather here is excellent as I am traveling in the summer months.  I have learned a lot about their language and culture.  Did you know that this country has the second largest economy of all Europe and is the most visited country in the world, receiving 82 million foreign tourists per year.  I really do love it here, even though I have not met any monkeys.  The food is exquisite and the espresso is to die for, if you are into that.  Well I am off to see other cities in this stylish and cultural rich country.”

Spotlight Mom with Community

July Spotlight Mom

The Tot’s Cafe is excited to introduce, Denise, as the Spotlight Mom for July.  We had the pleasure of speaking with her and the incredibleness that she brings as a Mother of a 24-month son, Charley.  There is a lot we can learn from her.

Denise works in her family’s business, has her own business on top of that and has a wonderful supportive husband.  What is unusual and special about her life in today’s Western Society is she has community helping her raise Charley.   Before and since Charley was born, she has the luxury of working in the family business that her parents run with her uncle, cousin, brother and her husband too!  When she and her husband wanted to have children, they planned this big choice, with the family members running the business. They all were aware that this new addition to the family would be with them at work as opposed to a full-time daycare.  As part of the plan, Charley is blessed with a large space to play and is also consistently looked after.  He has the bonus of having Mom and Dad around all day for his nurturing needs.  Daily community support is quite unheard of today, but Denise and her family have found a way to bring it into their life.  Charley is a very happy and satisfied little man.  Not only does Charley get the advantage of being around family, he also gets a bonus for learning how to manage and run a business at such a young age.  And yes folks, he is soaking that in.

The Tot’s Cafe was impressed with Denise as she is very crafty.  She sews clothes, bathing suits, furniture upholstery, children’s clothes, well, pretty much anything!  Denise has her own clothing line and uses old clothes to make new ones!  We like our Mother’s being mindful of recycling.  She had also informed us that she will soon be launching her new business in the next couple weeks so we will keep you posted on that!  Summer is here and a new bathing suit would be great for us Mamas and our children.

At her lovely home in Laguna Beach, she grows her own organic vegetables.  Denise enjoys gardening and feels it is important for her son to learn how to grow food.  We will soon hear more about that.

Our experience of Denise is kind, adventurous, bountifully creative and has a beautiful smile.  We really had a wonderful time as we took Charley and our children on a short nature walk.  Denise got down with the kids and showed them bugs and lizards and the kids were quite interested while smiling the entire time.  When one child would put up a fuss, she would hand all three children small sticks to play with, and it worked.  She is not only a talented and happy person she certainly great with the kids. No wonder Charley is such a smiley happy child.

Stay tuned for more on Denise.

Special Thank You to Stacey Gates, The Tot’s Cafe’s May Spotlight Mom, for sharing her life with us!  If you want to nominate a Mom in our Spotlight feature, please reply to this blog with your contact information.
